I apologize for the lack of posts the last few months. Yes, we’re still meeting, and it’s still  Sundays at 7:00 at FairGrounds (and we might be outgrowing it soon!) I also apologize for the delay in setting up the new site.  I’m working on it again, and it should be operational soon.  The URL will be bonege.com (with esperantosource.com as another domain name) but please don’t visit it until it’s ready.  I’ll let you know!

Mi pardonpetas por la manko de afiŝoj dum la lastaj monatoj. Jes, ni ankoraŭ kunvenas,  kaj ankoraŭ dimanĉe je 7:00  ĉe FairGrounds (kaj eble ni baldaŭ bezonos pli da spaco!) Ankaŭ, pardonpetas mi por la laborhalto pri la nova retejo. Sed mi relaboras pri tion, kaj baldaŭ ĝi funkcios. La retadreso estos bonege.com (kun esperantosource.com kiel alia adreso) sed bonvolu ne vizitu ĝin ĝis ĝi pretas. Mi vin informos!

The new site for The Esperanto Club of Hampton Roads will launch later this week. Unlike the present site, our club notes and schedules will be only a small part of the new site, which will mostly be structured as an “Esperanto source” for English speakers interested in the other international language.

La nova retejo por La Esperanto-Klubo de Hampton Roads ekstaros ĉi-semajne. Malsimila al la nuna retejo, nia kluba notoj kaj dataroj nur estos malgranda parto de la nova retejo, kiu estos “Esperanta fonto” de informo por anglaparolantoj kiuj interesiĝas pri la alia internacia lingvo.

On September 28, we will not be meeting at Fair Grounds. Instead we’ll be watching the first half of Gerda Malaperis at Jon’s place.  Visitors are welcome as always! The time will be 7pm, as usual, but the address will be: 930 Spotswood Ave, Apt D2, Norfolk.  See you there!

I’ve decided to move this website to its own domain in the next couple of weeks. The new site won’t be active until it’s posted here, probably in early-to-mid September.  There will be significant changes from this site. I’ll be creating a teaching podcast which will be the main feature.  Curiously, in spite of excellent language-teaching podcasts such as Notes in Spanish and Learn French by Podcast, there seems to be a lack of any equivalent in Esperanto-land, but not for long. There will still be local news and updates about the Esperanto Club of Hampton Roads, of course, as well as an expanded directory of resources.

Mi decidis movi tiu-ĉi retejon al ĝia propra domajno en la venontaj du semajnoj. La novan retejo ne uzebliĝos ĝis estos afiŝeto pri tio ĉi-tie, verŝajne en frua aŭ meza-Septembro. Estos profundaj ŝanĝoj de la aktuala retejo. Mi kreos instruantan podkaston, kiu estos la plej grava ero. Strange, malgraŭ bonegaj lingvinstuantaj podkastoj, tiaj Notes in Spanish and Learn French by Podcast, ŝajnante mankas similan podkasto en Esperantio, (sed ne longe).  Kompreneble ankoraŭ estos lokaj novaĵoj kaj ĝisdataĵoj pri La Esperanto-Klubo de Hampton Roads, kaj ankaŭ pligranda rimedolistoj.

It’s official–I’m going to Montreal in a couple of weeks for the 7th Pan-American Esperanto Convention (“TAKE 7″ in Esperanto).  I’ve got my passport in hand, train ticket purchased, and lodgings reserved (very affordably!) at UQAM, the University of Quebec at Montreal. I’ve always enjoyed travel, and to say I’m greatly looking forward to this trip is an understatement!

Oficialas!  En du semajnoj, mi iros Montrealen por la 7a Tut-Amerika Esperanta Kongreso (TAKE 7).  Mi prete havas mian pasporton, mia trajnbileto estas pagita, kaj mia loĝigoj rezervitas malplikoste ĉe UQAM, la Universitato de Kebeko ĉe Montrealo. Mi ĉiam ĝuis vojaĝi, kaj oni ne povas troigi kiel mi antaĝuas ĉi-tiu vojaĝon!

The Esperanto news site raporto.info reports some happy news, that Bialystock, Poland, the hometown of the founder of Esperanto, is creating an Esperanto television channel on the Internet to become operational in 2009. Here’s a complete video report (in Esperanto).

La Esperanta novaĵ-retejo raporto.info raports iom da feliĉigaj novaĵoj, ke Bialystock, Pollando, la hejmurbo de la kreinto de Esperanto, kreas Esperantan televid-kanalo ĉe la Interreto, kiu funckios je 2009. Jen la videa raporto pri tiu, Esperante.

The guy with the big legs in this commercial speaks in Esperanto, as well as other languages. His accent is a little strange, but his cheery “Saluton!” and “Bonan Matenon!” are perfectly understandable. (The music in the background is a German children’s choir singing Mein Vater war ein Wandersmann.) Well done, Monster!

La ulo kun la grandaj gamboj en ĉi-tiu reklamo parolas Esperante kaj alilingve. Lia akĉento iomete strangas, sed liaj feliĉaj “Saluton!” kaj “Bonan Matenon!” estas tute kompreneblaj. (La fona muziko estas germana infana koruso kantante, Mein Vater war ein Wandersmann.) Bone farita, Monster!
